This sign stands on the corner of Wykin Lane and Hinckley Road. It shows the crowning of King Henry VII after the Battle of Bosworth. Along the top, two hawthorn trees entwine. At their base are the emblems of Richard III and Henry, a red and a white rose. Intertwining at the centre bottom is a white and red rose to symbolise the marriage of Henry to Elizabeth of York, Richard’s niece. Richard’s broken banner with its white boar emblem is in the foreground. Stoke church stands on the hill.  Centre stage is Henry with his standard with the red dragon of Wales. In full battle armour of the day, he receives the Crown of England from Sir William Stanley.
